Internal masterclasses

30 October 2024

In the spring, evaluation interviews with employees revealed that there was considerable interest within the team in gaining more in-depth knowledge about the relevance of certain analyses for shelf life studies and the impact of analysis results on the conclusions of a study. We were happy to respond to this request by organizing several internal masterclasses.

Minke set up a series of substantive masterclasses to delve deeper into the background, design, and the 'how' and the 'why' of a Listeria monocytogenes challenge test with the analysts on a weekly basis. This ensures that our team of analysts not only knows what to do, but also why they are doing it and what the significance of various actions is in the bigger picture.

In August, Frank took us on a fascinating masterclass on the importance of physical-chemical analyses in food shelf life research. During this (literally) enlightening interactive presentation, Frank shed light on the wonderful and often overlooked world of microorganisms.

Finally, during an informative session, Paula (re)introduced the basic principles of the 5S model for laboratories at smartfood R&D. The 5S model for laboratories is a visual management tool that, as part of LEAN, contributes to a structured and efficient working environment.

We see working together on active internal knowledge sharing as an important way to implement our growth strategy. In this way, we as Team smartfood R&D together stimulate the sustainable development of our company.
