During these final weeks of 2022, we have come to realise that the past year once again demanded the utmost in adaptability and flexibility from everyone. It was also the year in which it became clear that sustainability and energy saving requires our full attention and devotion. 

As smartfood R&D, our focus will be on becoming CO2-neutral and reducing the ecological footprint of our clients. 

Thanks to our ongoing research into the mechanisms behind food shelf life, in recent years we have developed a comprehensive range of services our clients can use to radically reduce their ecological footprint.
 
By responsibly extending the shelf life of products, we are reducing wastage and contributing to the sustainable use of increasingly scarce raw materials. With a high-quality set of calculations and studies, we help our clients to optimise heating processes as a means to save energy. We are fully engaged in giving naturally-occurring spoilage flora in chilled products a role in our preservation matrices, which results in savings in raw materials and improved production efficiency, but most importantly, in products with optimally assured food safety. 

We had already started. Now, we will continue to make it happen.
